The magnetic strips are located on the front and back of the vacuum tool to catch metal hardware before it gets inside the vacuum. The black zinc coating on the magnets prevents rust long-term. The AIR-TIP Magnetic Utility Nozzle is compatible with other wet/dry vacuum brands with 32mm, 47.6mm and 63.5mm diameters (1-1/4″, 1-7/8″, 2-1/2”).
